The County and its Health Council established the Vineyard Health Care Access Program in 1999. The program has served 1,000's of Islanders with unmet health needs and affordable insurance program since then, and currently assists 2,500 Islanders each year to enroll in and retain affordable coverage. On November 13, 2009, an Open House was held to celebrate 10 years of service to the Dukes County community.
