**CY 2020 SFI Filing Season**

The filing season for CY 2020 Statements of Financial Interests (SFIs) opened on February 10, 2021.  On that date,  the SFI system sent an email with a user ID, as well as a link to the Filer Module, to every filer with a valid email address in the SFI system.

The filing deadline for appointed public employees to file their   CY 2020 SFI is Monday, May 3, 2021.   The filing deadline for elected public officials to file their CY 2020 SFI is Tuesday, May 25, 2021.

All Filers are strongly encouraged to file electronically using the SFI System at www.sfi.eth.mass.gov.  Filers seeking assistance with the electronic SFI filing, please email Robert Milt at robert.milt@mass.gov or call Tony Webb at (617) 371-9526 or Lauren Duca at (617) 371-9503.  For more information, please visit the Commission’s “File your Statement of Financial Interests” section of our website, which includes a CY 2020 Quick User Guide.

**Keep Your SFI Records Updated**

Every month, you should check whether the information for any of your existing SFI filers has changed.  For example, have they left their filing position, do they have a new phone extension or email address, or have they changed their home address?  If so, you need to update that filer’s user profile in the SFI system.  You should also check whether you had any new filers join your governmental body in the last month.  If so, that new filer needs to be entered into the SFI system as soon as possible.

When updating a filer’s user profile, please note the following:

When a filer leaves your governmental body, try to get a personal email address for them and enter it in their user profile.

When a filer leaves their position, if they no longer have access to their work email address, it needs to be removed from their user profile, even if you have included a personal email address for the filer.

When a filer leaves their position for whatever reason, do not change the filer’s status to “Inactive.”  Instead, change it to “Leaving SFI Filing Position.”  You should never change a filer’s status to “Inactive.”
